As a gross generalization, Russian women are gorgeous. Russian men aren’t. I travel the Moscow metro every day and that’s the only way I can put it.

The net effect is that if you have an ugly head it will rate as normal here. If you have an average head it will rate as good looking.

The biggest myth about Russian women is that they are all scammers out to get your money, or that they live a life of abject poverty and are desperate to get out.

Whats really happening is this :

(a) There is a gender imbalance in Russia meaning there are more women than men

(b) A lot of Russian men take advantage of this gender imbalance to act like dicks (still lots of women to choose from as it’s a sellers market for men). This creates in effect an even bigger imbalance

(c) Russia has a long history of instability, so stability is very attractive.

There is plenty of wealth and shiny new TV’s in Russia. Russia is modern, the middle class is huge and growing and (almost) all the shortages ended a long time ago.

What there is still a shortage of is intelligent, kind, honest men with good jobs. i.e. The kind of things geek guys tend to excel at.

3. Geeks are good at math. So do the math.

A wise man once said “Finding your love is a numbers game”. But it’s not how many women you meet. Its how many women you meet that are interested in you.

The math is simple : You’ll find a lot more interesting, attractive women interested in you on a Russian dating site than on your local dating site.

4. Technology is your friend.

Flights are relatively cheap, the internet makes it real easy to meet people. Basically there is an oversupply of good single women in one country, and an oversupply of good single men in another. The technology exists to balance these a bit. Why not use it?

And don’t forget technology is Russia’s friend too, file sharing is practically compulsory, new tech is everywhere and of course tons of old Fallout-esque soviet era bits around too.

My current job involves visiting the IT departments of various local and foreign companies in Moscow. I see a lot more women in IT jobs here than I ever did in the UK or Australia.

This is anecdotal evidence of a wider trend. Russian women are in general very highly-educated and far better represented in the geek-related fields than in the west.

Chances are pretty much everything you think you know about Russia and Russian women is wrong or out of date. Russia has changed a lot in the Putin era.

All-in-all Russian women got the whole package - beauty, kindness, intelligence, humour, warmth and femininity. Femininity is one particular thing that a lot of western men (most of who have never considered a foreign girl) say is hard to find in western women.

Like internet dating in general, Russia dating no longer has the stigma it did 10 years ago.

So if you’re at all interested take a little time and find out more, I reckon you’ll be pleasantly surprised at just how many attractive women out there who are interested in you.
